NYC Story ) Day 02

view from room

After a short sleep (for me) of five hours,i woke up at seven, took a disgusting cold noodle breakfast(had nothing to eat lol), made some order in my stuffs and got prepared to go out.

First thing i had to do was "Get the unlimited month Metro Card".
No need to ask to the desk, the machine is super simple and you even have a Korean version.
I paid 89$; today is 22nd, my month pass is until Sept 30th!

Second task, "Get a US sim card".
For this one, i made some research yesterday to locate some mobile storesand the nearest and the most practical to reach was Lexington avenue's, just one station from where I'm stayting (Queensboro Plaza)

Once at lex. ave, i'm face to face with... Bloomindale's department store.
"Destiny!!" I entered the store but nothing extraordinary. The store arrangement was too heavy with too much articles on clothes racks.

However, Bergdorf Goodman (that i've visited a bit later) was just stunning.
- Window display
giant items like cisors or labstor all made of cardboard and set with mannequins
- Promote a designer
This store makes designers stand by putting a designer per wall. They choose an efficient look and put on the wall the designer's name playing on typographie. The brand's original typo is mixed with a whole different size and type's typo :funny and eye catching.
- luxurious environment
Private atmosphere with a "salon de couture-like" corners (not large spaces) that makes you feel unique and VVIP.

Still no mobile store around...
I went to H&M.Oh my god, it's clean!!
Yep, sincerely all H&M i have ever seen before was deeply upside down.
This one on Lex ave (i don't know yet for NYC's other H&M) was super clean and ordered.
Gap was doing an even called "get one and have one free"

But the most surprising was Abercrombie
I already knew that there were semi-naked handsome boys saying hello at the front of the store and blablabla but when you see it by yourself, it's not a simple blablabla anymore. Guys were amazingly hot and there was this cute friendly asian boy (half Korean half Chinese) i talked a bit with.
What a revolutionnary idea.Playing on sensuality from campaign to the whole store :
Trendy music, attractive scent, dark light with spot on clothes only, clothes and items behind windows in the store...

This day around lexington ave, madison, fith avenue let me understand why America is America in one day. They really have these amazing ideas of marketing and huge skills to accomplish things.
"I love NY" is a real "theory" to develop.
