NYC Fashion's night out
September 10th 2009 : first day of New York Fashion week
Thanks to my Newyorker friend Sue, I could have participate to this year's biggest fashion fiesta in NYC, the Fashion's night out. There actually were a buzz around this event as you can notice in the Vogue exclusive video below.
Clearly, it consisted in remaining shops' doors open in manhattan, queens and brooklyn, with DJs, pop corn, cotton candy, champagne (not only), petits fours, shopping, and this from 6pm to 11pm. (planned on NY fashion week schedule!)
The place I went was Barney's New York on madison avenue.
On their fashion-caloric "menu", meetings with Alexander Wang, Narciso Rodriguez, Manolo Blahnik (Carrie's favorite chausseur), Kris Van Assche (Dior Homme), MK & A Olsen, Rag & Bone designers and many others!
I got the chance to see cute Alexander Wang, sexy Kris Van Assche and pretty Olsens and few models. Wow!
I now wish that this kind of fashion event where not only fashion industry people but also people in general can go will be settle in Paris really soon. It is just a smart communication buzz that makes fashion world accessible to everybody. And in commercial side, it is in a way making people spending money. Guys are meeting designers and are having fun, shops are doing business : win-win!
